Hey there! My name is Jenn. I’m a Canadian living in Berlin for almost 10 years. Over that time, I’ve shown a lot of my friends and family around town. I’ve finally decided to let the world in on my Berlin secrets! This map has everything you need to plan the perfect trip to Berlin, Germany.
Berlin Travel Guide: Tips and Recommendations for Exploring the City
Berlin, the capital of Germany, beckons you with its vibrant energy, rich history, and endless possibilities! Whether you crave cultural immersion, delicious food adventures, or electrifying nightlife, Berlin has it all.
This guide, crafted from my personal experiences living in the city will equip you for an unforgettable Berlin adventure.
Travel Guide: Planning Essentials
One of the most famous landmarks in Berlin is the Berlin Wall. Although it was once a symbol of division, today it serves as a reminder of the city’s past and the reunification of Germany. Visitors can see remnants of the wall throughout the city, including the East Side Gallery, which features murals painted on the largest remaining section of the wall.
Beyond the wall, Berlin is home to many world-class museums, including the Pergamon Museum (currently closed for renovations), which houses ancient artifacts, and the Museum Island complex, which includes five museums dedicated to art and culture.
Visitors can also enjoy the city’s many parks and gardens, such as the Tiergarten and the Botanical Garden. With so much to see and do, Berlin is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history, culture, and the arts.
Plan Your Perfect Trip
Getting Around Berlin
Berlin’s transit system is vast, (mostly) reliable, and easy-to-use. Purchase your tickets through the BVG app or consider getting the Berlin WelcomeCard, which also includes discounts for many attractions.
If you use the BVG app, you can buy single tickets as you go, a discounted multi-pack or a full 24-hour ticket.
Please note: If you’re going to or from the airport, make sure you buy an ABC ticket. (Not the usual AB.)
Find The Best Neighborhoods
Berlin boasts diverse neighborhoods, each with its own charm. For a youthful vibe, consider Kreuzberg. Alexanderplatz offers a central location.
