Top 10 Best Noodles in Berlin

Last Updated on December 28, 2024

Looking for the best noodles in Berlin? I mean, who doesn’t love noods? Noodles that is. Berliners certainly do–and can you blame them? There are few things as joyful as tearing into a chewy spicy noodle bowl on a grey Berlin evening. They’re the perfect cure for winter blues. (But I love them year-round, hot days included!)

As is evidenced by the list below, the noodle craze has taken over Berlin likea wok fire recently, which is exciting news for both locals and visitors. That means you can now find great noodles in almost every neighborhood–instead of always having to trek over to Kantstraße to get the real thing. The scene is so hot that these days it could also be described as (perhaps) Europe’s most exciting Chinese noodle scene.

This list has got it all: Chinese or Korean, Szechuan or Xi’an, fresh to dried, spicy to no-spice-at-all. So grab an extra set of napkins and get ready to slurp up something delicious!

Top 10 Best Noodles In Berlin

Wen Cheng

Berlin’s current love affair with biang biang noodles all started at Wen Cheng. With three locations that all see daily queues out the door, this restaurant is a testament to the rising spiciness tolerance in Berlin.

While I do enjoy the food there, I also think it’s a bit overhyped and overpriced. To that end, I would never queue up for it but if you go early or at off-hours it’s fine. If you love noodles, it’s definitely a solid pick.

Wen Cheng I: Schönhauser Allee 65, 10437 (Prenzlauer Berg) | Hours: Mon: 17-21:30 | Tue: Closed | Wed-Fri 17-21:30pm | Sat-Sun: 12-15 & 17-21:30

Wen Cheng III: Simon-Dach-Straße 22, 10245 (Friedrichshain) | Hours: Tue-Sat: 17-22 Sun: 12-15 & 17-22

Liu Chengdu Weidao Nudelhaus

If you’re after authentic Szechuan-style spice, then head to LIU Chengdu. This insider favorite targets the corporate work crowd. (Meaning: no late night dining or weekends. )They also don’t take reservations here, so prepare to queue or order takeout. But it’s worth it! Spice hounds take note! LIU serves what is rumoured to be the spiciest noodles in Berlin. (But can adjust for you non-spicy types too.) Think noodles and dumplings, prepared in chili oil, with sesame and soy sauce. Hot tip: try their famous zajiang noodles. (Vegan options are also available!)

Mingtastic

Let’s face it: good food and mall food courts don’t usually go hand in hand! But Mingtastic is a fantastic exception to this rule. This food court stall from Ming Dynastie, a Berlin Chinese favorite, is enough to make anyone reconsider their fast-food bias. The menu here features two versions of delicious hand-pulled noodles: thick and flat, served in your choice of a spicy beef soup or a customizable “build-your-own” bowl with braised pork, veggies, or tofu. (And choose your spice level of course!)

Craving something lighter? Their thinner, springier noodles come tossed in a flavorful sauce with ground meat, pork, or soybeans. Portions are generous, but feel free to grab a noodle refill or some pan-fried dumplings for an extra bite. And don’t snooze on dessert! Their unique water ice pudding is a must.

Step inside their brick-and-mortar location on Mehringdamm and be greeted by a cool urban neon vibe. The food does not disappoint either! Their noodle sauce is sesame-based, with garlic, chilies, and roasted peanuts. Vegetarians are particularly well-served here. Take your pick from the Biang Biang tofu special with deep-fried tofu or Biang Biang with Beyond Meat. (Also available with real meat!) Be prepared to queue, especially on the weekend!

While Rong’s Noodlehouse is also located in Charlottenburg, it’s a bit away from the well-beaten path of Kantstraße. Meaning: this one offers a chill hole-in-the-wall style vibe for your slurping pleasure. There’s a small menu here of your choice of beef or tofu handmade noodles, with three levels of spiciness. For extras, there’s beef soup and bao buns–and that’s it! (So if you’re noodle-averse, this isn’t the right pick for you!)
