Best Pizza in Mitte

Capvin
Capvin Weinmeisterstrasse isn’t your average pizzeria. It’s the Berlin outpost of the famed Capvin in Naples, owned by world champion pizzaiolo Vincenzo Capuano.
Authentic Neapolitan pizza crafted with Vincenzo’s champion-worthy expertise shows quality in every bite. These consistently top-rated pizzas will take you on a delicious trip to Naples without ever leaving Berlin.
Of course, they’ve got the classics covered. But there’s also something here if you want to dial things up a notch. Dive into unique creations like the “Vesuvio Piccante” with its fiery kick.

Nea Pizza 1889
Run by a Naples-born team, NEA Pizza 1889 brings true Neapolitan soul to an often-overlooked corner of Northern Mitte. Chef Oscar Eisa insists on homeland ingredients, crafting soft, blistered pizzas from Caputo flour dough fermented for up to 48 hours, topped with classic combinations and the occasional modern twist, then fired hot in a gas oven. Unlike most pizzerias, NEA’s sweets steal the show too—traditional pastries that could make even the sternest nonna nostalgic—best enjoyed in the expanded sit-down space or out on the Chausseestraße sidewalk, with takeaway desserts not to be missed.

W Pizza
W Pizza first opened in Neukölln but has since opened a second location in Mitte. The decor is sleek with seating by Bruno Rey, serving a chic yet understated backdrop with views onto bustling Invalidenstr. The pizzas here are Neapolitan-style, and you can opt for unusual toppings like Miso-Mushroom and Turkish Delight, in addition to the classic Burrata and Mozzarella. They also offer natural wine from Caminito next door. Cin cin!

Magic John’s
These days, Mitte is home to several excellent pizza-by-the-slice establishments. But Magic John’s was the first to bring New York-style slices served with an interesting array of toppings out of a small service window across from Fotografiska. Take your pick of toppings like truffle or almond pesto, then nosh down your slice on the seats out front or get a whole pizza to go to take with you to the nearby Monbijou park.

- Hours: Mon-Fri 11:30-23, Sat + Sun 13-23

Slice Society
Hot on the heels of Magic John’s, Slice Society offers another twist of New York-style pizza in Mitte. The menu here features four red and one white pizza options, alongside sausage from Kumpel & Keule and an optional addition of hot honey. (Recommended!) Wash it all down with a half-lemonade, half-iced tea, and you’ll almost feel like you’re on US soil again.

Lovebirds
There are a lot of takeaway pizza places in the city that leave you underwhelmed. Fortunately, that’s not the case at Lovebirds. Here you can grab Neapolitan-style slices, either to take away or eat in store. It’s self-service, yet somehow still chic, with cute pink decor and tables.
They offer all the classic flavors, alongside some more unusual choices like the Flying Tuna (with yellowfin tuna and Mozzarella dior de latte) or the Sunday Sunrise with baked potato and red pesto. During lunch hour, you can also opt for a delicious focaccia sandwich. This is also one of the rare places that offer gluten-free pizza options.

Best Pizza in Prenzlauer Berg

Standard Serious Pizza
If authentic Neapolitan is the only thing you’re after, Standard Serious Pizza is your top choice. Pioneers of the city’s pizza scene, they’ve been raising the bar for quality for years. Now with several locations, Standard serves up classic favorites alongside creative options, like truffle and mortadella.
Their secret? High-quality ingredients, a gas-fired oven, and cold-fermented dough that creates a light and airy crust. Pair your perfect slice with a craft beer or natural wine for a meal that’s truly unforgettable.

Selecta Modern Pizza
Prenzlauer Berg is clearly a hotspot for the best pizza in Berlin, but Selecta is a standout—especially if you’re in the mood for Neapolitan. The menu here leans into the classics, from a textbook Margherita Originale topped with mozzarella fior di latte and fresh basil to more indulgent options like the Pizza Mortazza, layered with mortadella, ricotta, and pistachio semolina. Pizzas can also be made gluten-free for an extra €6. Designed with sharing in mind, everything arrives ready for the table, encouraging a relaxed, communal approach.

Estelle
Estelle offers casual dining on pretty Kopenhagener Str. (This was the first street I ever lived on in Berlin!) The pizza here is Neapolitan and it’s served up in delicious flavors like Nduja, Leek, and Fennel or the Julius with Karashi Shiitake, Ham, Ricotta, and Miso. (Yum!) The menu here also features more than just pizza, with options like lamb and steak tartare. If you’re hungry for pizza on Monday night, this is a great bet. You can nab a pizza, a Ceasar salad, homemade pickles, and Valrohna Chocolate Mousse for dessert for just 27€.
Prenzlauer Berg is famously kid-oriented, and Estelle fits the bill nicely: there’s a playground right next door.

Gemello
Vegan pizza might seem like a niche topic, but Gemello is here to change your mind. Founder Stefan Kugler’s offers plant-based pies that range far beyond the drab and dry vegan pizzas of yore. The experience starts with a biga-based pizza dough, which adds a depth of flavor that most doughs can’t compete with. Next, we have an unusual (but not gimmicky) selection of toppings like the Boy, with seaweed, olives, and capers, or the Noma, with chestnut cream and fried mushrooms. And yes, the menu might list “mozzarella” and “parmesan” but rest assured, everything is vegan (and delicious). The creative spirit extends to the drinks menu with cocktail options like the Black Cherry, with sour cherry, cardamom, and sage.

60 Seconds To Napoli
Pizza from Naples might sound rather traditional, but 60 Seconds to Napoli is anything but. They’ve become famous for their pizza bowls, and their Truffle Pasta Pizza bowl in particular (pictured above). If you’re the type of person who can never choose between pizza and pasta, then you’ll be in heaven. Just be warned that this place is hyped so it gets very busy at peak hours.

Best Pizza in Kreuzberg

Zola
Classic pizzas reign supreme at Zola, with pizzas like Margherita, Parma, and Buffala all making an appearance. Each pizza is crafted with passion (you can taste it!) using a traditional Neapolitan recipe and cooked to perfection in a wood-fired oven for just 90 seconds.
While the core menu stays true to tradition, Zola keeps things interesting with seasonal variations. So, no matter when you visit, there’s always a delicious discovery to be made.
This one gets bonus points for its sunny patio on Paul-Lincke Ufer. It’s the perfect place to cap off a busy day and watch the people go by on the Kreuzberg Riviera (lol).

Roots Pizza is a newcomer in the heart of Kreuzkölln, offering another take on sourdough pizza and unique toppings, all using local, organic ingredients.
Feeling adventurous? Try their signature combos like parma ham, ricotta cheese, pear & apricot chutney. Craving a classic? They’ve got you covered with delicious Margherita and Salami options too.
Roots Pizza boasts an extensive bar menu featuring wines, spritzes, cocktails, beers, ciders, and more – the perfect selection to quench your pizza-induced thirst.

Falco Slice
I went here recently without knowing the concept and was pleasantly blown away. Think: giant delicious pizzas in either vegetarian or fully vegan varieties. I split half a pizza with a friend (pictured above), and it was more than enough for us (especially when combined with a few glasses of the delicious house wine). Surprisingly, my favorite was the lemon broccoli version, but the truffle mushroom was a close runner-up.

Masaniello
Most of the other choices on this list are rather new developments. But if you’re after something more classic, head to Kreuzberg’s Masaniello. This place has been running since 1979, and the interior is still very much 80s vibes. (It’s likely one of the oldest restaurants in Berlin!) However, the food is the star as they serve up not only Neapolitan pizza but also pasta, weekly specials, and fresh fish on the weekends. During the warm summer months, it’s lovely to sit on their expansive patio with an Aperol Spritz and a delicioso pizza, such as their ‘Verace Rossa’ with Mozzarella di Buffala, olive oil, cherry tomato sauce and fresh basil.

Al Catzone
From Hallesches Tor, follow the smiling Cheshire Cat to find the only truly all-vegan option in Kreuzberg. And yes, it is vegan, but even if you’re not vegan you will be swayed by the options here. Just try out the 4 Formaggi, made with vegan mozzarella, grana vegano, gouda and feta, or the Gaz, with a mushroom base, sauteed mushrooms, and roasted hazelnuts. Yummmm!

Best Pizza in Neukölln

Gazzo
Gazzo is still my favorite pizza place. When it first opened, it was the first time I tasted sourdough pizza crust and I was enchanted. The pizza is still great, even though it has some serious competition in the city. They don’t take reservations so go early or late–or be prepared to wait! (They’ll text you when your table is ready.)
Tip: Don’t forget to finish things off with the buffalo milk soft-serve with olive oil and sea salt.

W Pizza
The original W Pizza location opened in 2017 by Lukasz Sołowiej (a former Zola staffer), and is nestled next to the canal (and ping pong area!) The W in the name stands for a surprise ingredient: weed. (But don’t worry! It’s actually hemp flour and it won’t get you high.) Instead, this extra ingredient adds a greenish tint and a nutty flavor to the Neapolitan-style dough. (Regular dough is also available.) As far as toppings, they have the classics alongside bolder choices like Eggplant (eggplant cream, salsiccia, provola and basil) or Radicchio (radicchio, gorgonzola, walnut and honey). They also have a proper Kees van der Westen “Spirit” espresso machine, should you desire an espresso after your meal.
During the pandemic, it was very much a thing to get a pizza here to eat by the canal. But these days I’d recommend sitting inside. The design is sleek, with a mixture of exposed brick and stainless steel alongside Castelli chairs.

La Stella Nera
Berlin truly has everything, including a delicious all-vegan pizza joint. Think: handmade dough and a traditional wood-fired oven, topped with veggies, vegan cheese, and/or sauce. They also offer amazing pasta dishes, all made in-house!
But be warned, the word on this place is out! The restaurant is so popular you have to book ahead, especially on weekends.
As a bonus, this restaurant stands out not just for its delicious vegan food, but also for its unique operating model. It’s collectively run, meaning the staff share ownership, responsibilities, and the rewards of their hard work.

Ammazza Che Pizza
The secret that sets Ammazza Che apart from the rest of the pizza pack? It’s time. According to owner Maurizio Cilento, the magic lies in resting his dough for two to three whole days. This special touch results in light and airy pizza crusts that are simply divine.
While they focus on classic options, you can be sure they use only the finest ingredients. But don’t snooze on their other offerings. Their pasta and antipasti selections are also fantastic, making Cilento’s the perfect spot for a delicious after-work Aperol Spritz and a satisfying meal.

Mater | Pizzeria Verace
For some reason, Mater slides under the radar in pizza-crazy Berlin. But the pizza here can definitely challenge the bigger names. It’s Neapolitan style, and all the ingredients are primarily sourced from small Italian farms. While most other pizza joints compete on dough, here they stand out with their thin-but-flavorful tomato sauce. Choose a classic like the Margherita, the Ortolana Vegana with roasted vegetables and vegan mozzarella, or go for one of the daily specials, with ingredients like the Fiordilatte d’Agerola, Taleggio cheese, and porcini mushrooms.

Zerostress
Calling all local Berliner festival foodies! Remember those life-saving pizzas you devoured at Fusion Festival? Well, the masterminds behind that deliciousness now have a brick-and-mortar location in Berlin called Zerostress.
Since 2015, Zerostress has been serving up Berliners fresh Italian flavors with a twist. Think unexpected combinations like gorgonzola, pumpkin, and rosemary. But here’s the best part: ditch the whole pizza and grab a giant 30cm slice instead! This is your official excuse to try multiple flavor combinations and experience Zerostress’ culinary creations – all with zero stress, of course.

Pomodorino
Pomodorino is a classic pizza-by-the-slice establishment that’s a slice above the competition. (I almost didn’t include this one, but was persuaded by the amount of people naming it as their favorite on Reddit!) This is very much a grab-and-go type of deal, but if you’re after something quick and affordable, it’s worth a stop. It’s also open late, which is a boon in this area. If you’ve been out bar hopping at Boxi, this is a great place to end your night.

Spaccanapoli Nr. 12
In pizza-crazy Berlin, it can be challenging to find pizza served by real Italians. That’s not the case at Spaccanapoli Nr. 12. Here, they serve up delicous Neapolitan-style pizzas, alongside Italian favorites like arancini, deep-fried zucchini flowers, and pasta. The pizza flavors are a stand-out with classics and options like the Pistacchia, with pistachios, ricotta, and Fior di latte, or the Super Diavola, with Nudja-salami and triple garlic.

Salami Social Club
Salami Social Club is another pizza-by-the-slice place that stands out from the typical stand. You can get your slices to go, of course, but they do have some indoor seating as well. The decor is very Berlin-chic and it gets really popping, especially on Thursdays after 6pm where you can order a slice for just €1.50. Grab a reservation if you don’t want to be disappointed!

Best Pizza in Schöneberg & Charlottenburg

Malafemmena
Not just another outpost offering Neapolitan pizza, Malafemmena is worth the buzz. This pizzeria, with locations in Prenzlauer Berg and Friedenau, uses only the freshest ingredients and a gas-fired oven to create pizzas that follow the strict traditions of Naples.
Malafemmena is the only pizzeria in Berlin with an AVPN certification, the official recognition for true Neapolitan pizza makers. Their menu offers classic and creative toppings, with vegetarian and vegan options to satisfy everyone. Plus, they have a tempting selection of fried Neapolitan snacks!
The original Friedenau location boasts a full menu with pastas and main courses. Both locations boast a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, making Malafemmena a favorite among locals and visitors. Don’t forget to end your meal with a slice of their famous Tiramisu!

Sironi – La Pizza
Milanese master baker Alfredo Sironi has been serving up delectable baked goods at his bakery in Kreuzberg since 2013. But more recently, he’s branched out with a few new locations, including this pizzeria/bakery in Schöneberg. Stop by to pick up some thin-crust slices, with flavors like the Vegana or Diavola. The dough here is a standout, landing somewhere short of traditional Roman style. It’s crispy and made with 80% spelt flour—a standout in the Neapolitan-rich Berlin pizza scene.

Best Pizza in Wedding

Stranero
Neapolitan pizza has been delighting Berliners for years, and at Stranero the hype is fully justified: airy, thick-crusted pizzas emerge from the stone oven packed with flavor, from classic Margherita and indulgent buffalo mozzarella variations to combinations with scamorza and salami, plus well-considered vegan options. Run by two friends from Venezuela and Italy, the small, stylishly spartan space invites guests to linger, drawn in by fair prices and a menu that ranges from traditional pizzas to creative surprises like the Calzone Nutella, alongside antipasti and sweet desserts. It’s beloved not only by locals but by pizza fans from across the city.

Sotto
Imagine a couple with a newborn baby and zero restaurant experience coming together with a rather unlikely dream: opeing vegetarian pizzeria of their dreams in Wedding. Lucky for us that this dream worked out! This cozy blue-tiled space is buzzing with locals seeking meatless indulgences. Should the word vegetarian make you balk, you will be happy to know that you won’t go away feeling deprived. The dough here has been cold-fermented for up to three days, which provides the perfect chewy-yet-crispy base for the toppings. Both vegan and vegetarian varieties are served here, which means you can take your pick from imaginative flavorings like pumpkin-gorgonzola or spinach with almond cream and pesto. Top it all off with a glass of wine and a Tuscan chickpea-flour cake for dessert.

Monella
Monella is a cozy neighborhood joint that delivers real Italian soul. Everything is made with good-quality ingredients and baked in a stone oven. The pizza is full of flavor, with chewy dough and that distinctive Napoli-style char. However, the interior veers more toward a cozy pub-like atmosphere than an Italian trattoria. This one is also budget-friendly with the current special (Jan 2026) of a pizza and Spritz for just €10. In the summer months, you can catch their second location at nearby Poltzensee.

Denis Pizza Place
Here’s another under-the-radar choice in Wedding: Denis Pizza Place. The pizza here easily holds its weight compared to the more popular places on this list. It all starts with a good base. The dough is Neapolitan style and made with 5-year-old wild yeast, which is more complicated to bake with but yields a stronger flavor than the average. Add some classic flavors like buffalo mozzarella or pesto and you’ve got yourself an impressive pie. The decor is minimal and the service is friendly, making it a real neighborhood favorite.
